VCCI led by President M Sudarsan Swamy representing members from diverse industries visited with the top leadership and industry leaders from UCCIL By led by Dr Prabodh Mohanty at Bhubaneswar on 8th March,2025.

Dr. Kambhampati Haribabu garu, Honourable Governor of the State of Odisha hosted both the delegations at Raj Bhavan, Bhubaneswar, for series of discussions that touched upon several broad policy issues to numerous nitty-gritty details, overall to facilitate and improve robust trade relations between the two fastest-growing metro economies on India’s east coast. The Honourable Governor outlined several mutual strengths that can be leveraged between the states, and the role both chambers could play. He reiterated the lesser known strengths of Odisha, including rich mineral wealth, pro-growth policy and bureaucracy, vast network of higher educational institutions, and a focus on skill building, and said entrepreneurs must take advantage of all the incentives provided by the state. The Governor also emphasised the state’s new found wealth in mining auctions, and assured that all incentives will be honoured. 

He also mentioned the initiative taken by him with the union civil aviation minister to resume flights between vizag and Bhubaneswar if necessary with Viability gap funding (VGF) or have a stop at BBHP for flights to and from Calcutta.

Members from both VCCI and UCCIL spoke and identified several opportunities and challenges in expanding trade. Both Chambers discovered many areas of potential collaboration, including seafood processing and export, technology and innovation, skill building, and many other sectors. The President expressed deep gratitude to the Governor for organising VCCI members stay at Raj Bhavan. 

The President also expressed gratitude to Mr. Valsaraj, Executive Member, VCCI for his efforts in facilitating the meeting with the Honorable Governor.
