President, Treasurer and Members of VCCI met with the Mr. Chang Nyun Kim, Consul General of the Republic of Korea (Chennai) & Ms. Seo-young Moon Director General, Korean Trade Investment Promotion Agency in an Interactive meeting held on 13 Nov 2024 at Novotel, Visakhapatnam organized by FAPCCI in association with AP Chambers, CII, VCCI, Seafood Exporters Association of India.

The discussions focused on strengthening bilateral relations, and the possibility of exploring more trade and partnership opportunities between the State and South Korea.

The President highlighted that India urgently requires advanced technology for the manufacturing of solar cells, an area in which South Korea could offer significant expertise.

VCCI Treasurer Mr. Pawan Kumar Gunturu, took up the issue related to seafood import duties on Shrimp into Korea. 
The other issues related to visas, FTAs, food processing, S/W R&D development centres were among the key topics raised during the interaction with the Consul General. 

Hon’ble Member of Parliament, Visakhapatnam Sri M. Sribharat garu was the Chief Guest for this interaction. He mentioned that the Government of Andhra Pradesh is very keen to explore business opportunities and requested Korean companies to establish food restaurants, tourism, and smart townships in Visakhapatnam.
