Mr. B. Hareram, IRS addressed everyone should have the knowledge of taxation and all the assesses should pay correct tax as per their real accounts. The GST came into force with an aim to make the country, a ‘no-tax-evasion country’ and the business organisations and managements of all commercial houses should pay their tax sincerely. If there is awareness on this, the GST is really a good and simple tax systems.
He also said that there are several debates on the changes had that had taken place and the problems that cropped during the past 18 months, since the GST came into effect. “Several decisions taken by the GST council are favorable to small and medium category businessmen. We are going to concentrate more on the bogus bills and will book cases against the culprits.
Mr Bimal Jain, FCA There is a need for proper understanding of the GST. The GST would provide a permanent solution to several issues faced by the trade, but there was need to thoroughly study they system and get clear understanding of it.
He explained the tax collection method before and after the introduction of GST and said it was his desire that the problems faced after the implementation of GST should be discussed thread bare and solutions given. He said that “GST provide relief from multiple taxation for single transaction, payment of the tax twice and tax on tax payment and other issues and was introduced with the spirit of ‘one nation, one tax ‘, After Brazil and Canada , it was only India, which introduced such a policy”. On the GST enforcement efforts, Jain explained the baring petrol, diesel, crude oil, aviation turbine fuel and natural gas, all products and services were brought under the GST frame work. And as many as 32 meetings were held so far after the GST Council was constituted and decision taken in every meeting provided more benefits to the people.
